Redesigning a grief companion app to create a more personal and supportive space for users as they face loss, keep their memories, and work through their feelings.

This project revisits the experience of a grief companion app, focusing on how technology can help someone go through grief in a more personal and caring way.
Rather than seeing grief as a linear process, we explored how the app could offer a safe space for users to remember, reflect, and face their feelings in their own way and at their own pace. The redesign covered refining the existing experience as well as developing several new features, so the app feels closer, easier to use, and emotionally supportive.
The core experience of the app is built around several parts, from Entering the App as a gentler starting point for users, to Memory Room as a space to keep and revisit memories, and Coping Journal as a private space to write down and work through feelings.
In this project, we considered not only usability, but also how a digital product can respond to its users' emotional context. Every decision about interaction, language, and visuals was designed with how the experience could feel safer, more comfortable, and more human in mind.
